Exploring Healthy Eating Habits through "Happy and Sad Tooth" & "Food Sorting" Activities
Our LKG children recently participated in a fun and educational activity that introduced them to the concept of healthy and junk food. Through the engaging "Feeding the Happy and Sad Tooth" and "Happy and Sad Food Sorting"activities, the young learners explored how different types of food affect our teeth and overall health.
Using models of a happy tooth and a sad tooth, the children "fed" healthy foods like fruits and vegetables to the happy tooth, while junk foods like candy and chips were given to the sad tooth. This visual and hands-on experience helped them understand the impact of food choices on dental health.
In the sorting activity, children classified various food items into two groups—happy (healthy) and sad (junk)—based on how those foods make our body feel. This simple yet effective task supported their decision-making and classification skills, while reinforcing the importance of choosing nutritious foods.
Both activities provided a playful and interactive way to promote healthy eating habits, laying the foundation for lifelong wellness.
